Michael Petersik is an advisor in the German Development Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit ) – GIZ. He is part of the project “ICT-based Adaptation to Climate Change in Cities”. The project brings together expertise in urban development, climate change adaptation and information and communication technologies (ICT). Together with the partner cities in Mexico, Peru and India, the project develops and customizes digital solutions that engage citizens in the co-creation of their cities to achieve urban resilience. The project is commissioned by the International Climate Initiative. Since 2014 Michael Petersik works for the GIZ in the field of Sustainable Urban Development and Digitalization. His academic background is political sciences and environmental economics.
