Melanie Akerboom co-founded Social Innovation Meets School in 2016 with the aim to foster 21st century skills in youth and to promote social entrepreneurship as an alternative career path and a way of doing business. She used to work as a community – and incubator manager at the Social Impact Lab Berlin supporting social entrepreneurs in the early startup phase and as a tutor in the fields of Innovative Tourism and Entrepreneurship at Stenden in South Africa. Melanie studied Social Entrepreneurship (MA) at Goldsmiths College in London and International Tourism Management (BBA) at Stenden University in Leeuwarden.
