Asia-Pacific Week Berlin 2018: Asia-Europe Dialogue on Digitalization
April 23 – 29, 2018
We welcomed over 1,800 participants to our panel discussions, fireside chats, pitch sessions and interactive formats of the 13th APW. More than 115 speakers initiated inspiring discussions on relevant topics around digitalization and invited the audience to join them in discussing new trends and developments.
The Embassy Day spanned a variety of seminars hosted by the participating delegations from Asia. They elaborated on the general theme of digitalization by going into more detail on the roles of startups and new technologies. The format was followed by the official Opening of APW with speakers Ramona Pop (Mayor of Berlin and Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises), Cedrik Neike (Member of the Managing Board Siemens AG, Asia and Australia, Energy Management), Dr. Pun-Arj Chairatana (Director National Innovation Agency Thailand), Isabella Groegor-Cechowicz (SVP, General Manager Public Services, SAP), and Vikram Gupta (Founder and MD of IvyCap Ventures).
For the first time we dedicated one day for thematic conferences on the various aspects of digitalization, e.g. health, fintech, smart cities, energy, cyber security and governance. The Connecting Startup Cities Conference followed up on these topics and united over 800 startup enthusiasts at Haus Ungarn.
