Thank you very much for your participation and support of the 10th Asia-Pacific Weeks in Berlin. This year 90 partners offered 116 events during 12 days so you could experience a vibrant and versatile program focusing on the key issue smart cities.

Highlights of the APW 2015 were the Opening Events of the first week: The Kick-Off Event and the Official Opening Ceremony with high-ranking guests from politics and business on May 18 and the 3rd Embassy Day on May 19 at the Federal Foreign Office as well as the the Business and Technology Conference „Smart Cities – Smart Solutions for Urban Challenges“ from May 21 to 22 in the CityCube Berlin. For the first time the APW cooperated with the world’s biggest smart city trade show and congress Metropolitan Solutions from May 20 until 22 in the CityCube Berlin. Subject of discussion was intelligent management of water and energy supply, transport and sustainable urban development as well as efficient and creative solutions for urban challenges. Experts from Germany, Europe and Asia, from business, politics, science and culture discussed innovative concepts for future cities.

A premiere of this year’s APW was the „Asia-Europe Innovation Dialogue” with the LABS TO PUBLIC main events on May 27 at the Platoon Kunsthalle and on May 28 at the Factory. Start-ups, incubators, accelerators, university foundation centers and established ventures from Germany and Asia participated to initiate international partnerships, projects and long-term as well as sustainable cooperation between Asia and Europe by combining networking and prototyping in a participatory environment.

A particularity of the 10th APW was the extensive cultural program of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in cooperation with the Press Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China: guests were elated with a film festival, top-class kung fu and dance performances, a panda exhibition with traditional craftsmanship at the Gärten der Welt and culinary feasts.

More than 2.300 guests participated in the APW events. About a quarter of those guests came from China, South Korea, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan and Mongolia to Berlin.
