Dr. Dr. Mahmood is a founding member of the Asia-Pacific-Forum Berlin and chairman of the country forum Pakistan, which aims to promote economic, trade, investment and cultural relations between Germany and Pakistan. Since 1997 Dr. Dr. Mahmood has been organizing the “Pakistan Business Day” every two years in Berlin, receiving high-ranking delegations from the fields of economy and politics. One of his major achievements as the chairman of the Pakistan-Forum is concluding a number of Pakistani-German joint ventures. Over the last 15 years, Dr. Dr. Mahmood has been able to create a top-class network of German and Pakistani politics and economy. He organizes conferences with German think tanks as well as meetings with representatives from both countries on a regular basis.
Dr. Dr. Talat Mahmood worked as Senior Fellow at Berlin Social Science Center (WZB), the biggest European think tank in this specific field. He received two doctoral degrees in Berlin, the first one in Industrial Engineering at the Technical University and the second one in Industrial Economics at Humboldt University. His current research is focused on international migration, bilateral relations and the impact of foreign direct investment on the economy of Pakistan. As an industrial economist he has already lectured at several universities and published various essays in international magazines.
