Dr. Dr. Talat Mahmood is a Senior Fellow at the Social Science Research Center (WZB) in Berlin, the largest European think-tank in this field. He received his first PhD in Industrial Engineering at the Technical University Berlin and obtained his second PhD in Industrial Economics from the Humboldt University Berlin. His current research interests are International Migration, Bilateral Relations and the impact of FDI on Pakistan’s economy. He has taught as an industrial economist at several universities and has published several papers in international journals.
Dr. Dr. Mahmood is a founding member of the Asia-Pacific Forum Berlin and president of the Pakistan Forum, which actively fosters German-Pakistani business, trade, investment and cultural relations. Since 1997 he has organized the biennial “Pakistan Business Day” in Berlin attended by high-level delegations from the corporate and political world. One of his major accomplishments as president of the Pakistan Forum is the conclusion of several German-Pakistani joint-ventures. Over the last fifteen years, Dr. Dr. Mahmood has secured a high-profile network from both the German and Pakistani business and political sectors. He regularly organizes joint conferences with German think-tanks and arranges meetings between high-level representatives from both countries.
